Kicking-off a series of bi-monthly, free screenings of cult classics, SCUM Cinema is collaborating with The Arts House to present a KUNGFU DOUBLE BILL! Representing the cream of the Shaw Brothers’ kungfu output are two stone-cold classics: The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and Five Deadly Venoms!

A young student, San Te (Gordon Liu), is drawn into a local rebellion against the Manchu government. Government officials brutally suppress the uprising and San Te decides to seek vengeance. Wounded during the attack, San Te flees to Shaolin temple and seeks training in kungfu.

The dying master of the powerful Poison Clan instructs his final pupil, Yan Tieh (Sheng Chiang), to check on the shenanigans of five former pupils, each of whom possesses a unique style of kungfu: The Centipede, Snake, Scorpion, Lizard, and Toad. Mayhem ensues as Yan Tieh discovers that some of these ‘Five Deadly Venoms’ are indeed evil.
